Moss Electrical sets the standard with panelboard order

London-based Moss Electrical, one of the largest single-site independent electrical wholesalers in the United Kingdom, has placed a major stock order for panelboards and moulded-case circuit-breakers from Eaton, the leading UK manufacturer of switchboards, panelboards and distribution boards.

"Most wholesalers will stock a limited range of panelboards and circuit-breakers, covering only the fast-moving product lines, but Moss is stocking a complete range of the new MEM panelboards and Eaton Series G moulded-case circuit-breakers", explains Derek Gearing, Eaton's local sales engineer for industrial and commercial products. The new MEM panelboard range covers ratings from 125A to 800A with up to 18 outgoing triple-pole ways while the new Series G MCCBs, around which it is designed, range from 16A to 630A.

The order reflects Moss Electrical's aim to hold one of the largest stock profiles of electrical installation equipment in a single location in the UK.

Moss Electrical was established in 1994 and has made substantial investment in ordering and delivery processes.   It works closely with major suppliers like Eaton to ensure a comprehensive stock profile and efficient service to electrical contractors, based on its 85,000 sq ft warehouse in Caxton Street North, London E16. Moss Electrical is situated in the heart of the new Olympic development, in the 'River Zone'. This is a perfect position to support its customers on contracts gained in the run up to the 2012 Olympics.   Moss offers same-day and next-day deliveries, locally and nationally, as well as a 'Call & Collect service' from 7.00am until 6.00pm.

Moss Electrical is a major customer for Eaton commercial and industrial products.  "We have a wide stock holding of MEM Panelboards and we stock Mempower busbar through from 20A to 800A" says Lindsay Goubel, Operations Director with Moss Electrical.  "The recent commercial agreement with Eaton has widened an already broad stock holding".

The new MCCB panelboards, introduced a year ago, carry third-party certification by KEMA, the leading International test and certification body, with short-circuit I CW ratings up to 50kA.   They offer a choice of MCCB, circuit-breaker switch or direct connection incomer and allow for a mixture of outgoing MCCBs including different frame sizes and single-pole or triple-pole units. Side, top or bottom cable extension boxes, analogue or digital meter packs and transient voltage surge suppression kits are all available.

The associated Series G moulded-case circuit-breakers cover applications from 16A to 2500A in five frame sizes. The smallest frame size, Frame GE, offers ratings from 16A to 160A with fixed or adjustable thermal trip and fixed magnetic trip units. The second frame size, Frame GJ, is a versatile 250A unit available with adjustable thermal-magnetic trip or electronic trip. The electronic trip enables the breaker to be used effectively down to 20A.
